Most dvds are released 6months after release. That's usually the case for movies and (American) tv shows. I doubt that Funimation follows this same schedule since the series is on season 17 overseas. When the season finishes its run, or draws to its end, you'll get an announcement on the next release. |

Unfortunately, I found the most accurate resource for case closed releases in the USA. It is called the Anime News Network, and the following link should lead you to the upcoming releases of Case Closed in the USA: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/releases.php?yearmonth=&anime=C The unfortunate part is that there are no new releases upcoming this year nor in july, except tv specials (GN), which are only released from the viz media distributor, which is inaccesible in the USA. Also, only a re-release of season 2 is noted in the upcoming section. Here is the situation: Funimation released the season 5 box set; but that only contained episodes 106-130. In this case, the box set did not have episodes 131-141 (Funimation release numbers); these episodes, on the original Japanese release, are actually part of season 5. Therefore, there should be a second release of the season 5 box set, containing episodes 131-141. Seasons 6 and 7 should come out soon after. The only thing to do now is to keep referring to the link posted above. Titles bolded in red on the website will show updates in the upcoming section, which will have to be from the fun distributor in order to be dubbed and shipped to America. That is the situation right now. KevinHoward |

That's terrible news! So essentially we were ripped off 10 episodes of Season 5, and may be cut off from the rest of the (dubbed)series?! Who can I complain to?!!!!!! |

The show is still going strong in Japan(they are quite a few seasons ahead of the english dub), but the sales of Case Closed have to be well enough for Funimation to produce the cost to make them. |
