The Warrior Posts: 3,035 Group: Global Moderators Member #680 Joined: November 7, 2008	It's a sort of futuristic version of an old movie called The Seven Samurai (found this bit out on wikipedia). But I have watched all the episodes and it is really good. It's not great at the beginning, but it gets much better. I thought it was awesome by the end. It's about a group from a rice growing village who go to the city to find samurai to defend them against these giant robot bandits. (All the villages in the country get attacked by them but this one decides to fight back). A lot of the story is based around them finding the samurai and trying to recruit them, then it's about the samurai training the villagers and then eventually fighting the bandits. It gets REALLY good.

The main samurai is the leader Shimada Kambei. He's an old samurai who fought in the war (what war I dunno, a massive one anyway). He's been fighting his whole life, but has apparently never won a war. He's got some serious skills though. If you keep watching, there's a bit near the end of the series where he gets captured by the Emperor and the way he breaks out is cool. It's not really all about him though. All of the characters have their own parts in it. There's Katsuchiro (I think that's his name). He's a young samurai who really wants to follow the old samurai way. He idolises Kambei. Then he gets all emotional when he has to kill someone for the first time. He takes a long time to accept it, so for most of the time he acts like he's a bit mental when he's killing enemies. Proper psycho. Gorbei is a black samurai with white hair who catches arrows and stuff. Not too much story. I can't remember the name of Kambei's right hand man. He fought with Kambei in the war. I don't think much happens with him either though. He's got some kinda spear and a fake hand with a grapple hook in it. Kiku is a big robot samurai. The others don't really acknowledge him as being a true samurai cause he's a bit of an idiot and is not very skilled (but he is strong). Heihachi is another one. They recruit him after they find out how well he chops wood with his sword. He had never killed anyone before too, just like Katsu, but he seems fine with it. Kyuzo was a psycho from start to finish. He's a bad guy at the beginning. He wants to murder Kambei. He has two swords and is probably the best fighter. He joins up with the group because he doesn't want anyone but him killing Kambei. Kambei refuses to fight him until he's fulfilled his oath to protect the village. So Kyuzo fights alongside them to keep Kambei alive long enough to kill him. That's basically it. It's really good. The action is great, you should definitely watch it.
